    Argus Institue

    Founded in 1984, the Argus Institute is a specialized service at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital that provides free grief counseling and support to hospital clients. Integrated into your pet’s medical team, our counselors are here to help you make informed decisions about your pet’s medical treatment.

  • Local Group Support

    Pet Rest

    Our Pet Loss Support Group meets the second Monday of every month at 7:00 pm. Come to our office to find a comfortable space to gather with folks who are experiencing similar grief.

  • Memorial Art

    Local artist and friend, Amy Moss, beautifully captures the unique character of each pet she honors through her art. She has personally captured Ashley, LCPH’s inspiration, and we are forever grateful to see her face in living color!

  • Children's Books

    Pet loss can be a sad and confusing time for younger children. Please consider the following books to either prepare or explain the loss of a loved pet. Though this is not a comprehensive list these resources have personally proven to be helpful in starting a conversation and explaining pet loss.
